For our short film exploring the sensitive topic of stillbirth, finding the right actor for the lead role was crucial. With limited choices in our area, we felt Mary Hailstone was the standout choice. Mary's portrayal enriches our film's exploration of grief and healing. Her actor reel has since been updated to include scenes for the short.
Inspiration:
We drew inspiration from “Panoramic”. As Screenwriter I worked with the director, cinematographer, and production designer to create a similar visual palette. This collaborative process allowed us to adapt key visual motifs, lighting schemes, and framing techniques into our storyboard and visual treatment. Through iterative refinement and feedback, I helped elevate “Still” to succeed our inspiration.
